making detroit proud
14.May.2008.18.35
the latest kwame situation has been big local news and has even made it to the national stage.

CNN and fox news are great, but you haven't really hit the big time until jon stewart picks you up on the daily show. well, that time has come. kwame's done detroit proud. the "r. kelly" responses really make it work.

13 year olds gone wild
13.May.2008.11.17
a 13 year old in texas was convicted of fraud after stealing his dad's credit card to buy hookers.

not just hookers. he took his friends on a $30,000 shopping spree that included gadgets, video games, junk food, and finally a hotel room complete with two escorts. the ladies were released by officers, but the kid has been handed three years community order (i guess that means community service?) for his conviction.

i guess this goes a few steps beyond taking $5 from your mom's purse.

they've launched the official site for the movie at www.xfiles.com, but the trailer is actually hosted by IGN and available via direct link:
The X-Files: I Want to Believe Movie Trailer - Debut Trailer

it doesn't give away a ton of info, but i'm looking forward to it. i'll call it x-files withdrawls.

another strike in hollywood?
07.May.2008.14.51
if another season of lost or 24 gets jacked up, i'm going to push hollywood of into the ocean.

following this seasons contract issues with the writer's guild, it looks like the studios are currently in a stalemate with the actors guild. their contract expires in june. similar to the earlier strike, the actors main focus is on DVD sales and money generated by online content. lets hope that both parties learned their lessons already.
